Two volumes, one containing notes and sermons of the Rev. Joseph H. Saunders, the other consisting of a journal begun on his 29th birthday. The journal provides details of Saunders' daily life, along with observations and reflections on the attractions of the material world, piety, the Catechism, liturgy, communion, and the parish.
